Who Says Boys Should Have All the Fun?

When you’re ready for something different, here are two great action/adventure novels with alternative female leads. Who says boys should have all the fun?

Trauma Alert by Radclyffe. The first installment in the First Responders series, Trauma Alert introduces us to Dr. Ali Torveau, an ER doctor who has dedicated herself to saving lives at the expense of her romantic life, although the real reason for her avoidance of romance runs much deeper. Things change when she crosses paths with Beau Cross, a sexy firefighter with a sordid past who has her own reasons for avoiding love. Although a romance novel, action abounds in Trauma Alert. Radclyffe is the founder of Bold Stroke Books, an independent predominantly lesbian publisher, the author of over 45 lesbian romance novels, and a former doctor who certainly knows how to spin a medical drama.

The all-star cast including Brad Pitt and Ed Norton seem perfectly suited to the characters they play, and the movie (much like the novel) is nothing short of a non-stop thrill from start to finish.

Even the wardrobe was R-rated. The MPAA was rather tough on Fight Club, and as a result many scenes were cut from the movie in order for it to maintain an R-rating.
