Trauma Alert by Radclyffe. The first installment in the First Responders series, Trauma Alert introduces us to Dr. Ali Torveau, an ER doctor who has dedicated herself to saving lives at the expense of her romantic life, although the real reason for her avoidance of romance runs much deeper. Things change when she crosses paths with Beau Cross, a sexy firefighter with a sordid past who has her own reasons for avoiding love. Although a romance novel, action abounds in Trauma Alert. Radclyffe is the founder of Bold Stroke Books, an independent predominantly lesbian publisher, the author of over 45 lesbian romance novels, and a former doctor who certainly knows how to spin a medical drama.

Adaptation by Malinda Lo. When a young student named Reese finds himself stranded in Arizona after flocks of birds decide to hurl themselves into airplanes, she senses something may be amiss. Driving back with her debate team partner/crush David the two are involved in a car crash and wake up a month later in a military hospital unsure of what unfolded. Events only intensify when she makes it back home to San Francisco, especially when she encounters an alluring and mysterious new girl named Amber. Filled with action and suspense, Adaptation will have you turning pages one after the other from start to finish.

Fun Facts About Fight Club

A fan favorite that enjoys enduring success to this very day, Fight Club was a masterpiece of a film with a continued cult following. Here are three interesting facts about the film that you may or may not have known.

It started as a novel. Despite a drastically different ending, Fight Club manages to stay true to the plot, themes, and progression of Chuck Palahniuk’s debut novel of the same name. The all-star cast including Brad Pitt and Ed Norton seem perfectly suited to the characters they play, and the movie (much like the novel) is nothing short of a non-stop thrill from start to finish.

Even the wardrobe was R-rated. The MPAA was rather tough on Fight Club, and as a result many scenes were cut from the movie in order for it to maintain an R-rating. That said, the MPAA may have missed a ince detail in Brad Pitt’s wardrobe, as the tank top he wears in one of the pivotal final scenes is actually made up of various pornographic images. Oops.

The movie is absolutely full of Easter eggs. It may take the most perceptive of fans to notice them, but Fight Club is full of amusing Easter eggs. For example, one scene in the movie is filmed in front of a marquee for the movie Seven Years in Tibet, which of course, stars Brad Pitt.
